Description
Gulf RE Special SAE 10W-50 is specially formulated for innovative engines, based on 100% synthetic base stock with PAO and esters and a special ether which ensure good cold start properties, reduces friction and provides thorough protection of turbo-components. Mazda rotor engines (based on a Wankel engine) use one rotor radius, 105 mm, with an offset of the crankshaft on 15 mm. The only engine deviated from this design is a rare 13A which has a rotor of 120 mm radius and an offset of the crankshaft on 17.5 mm. Mazda rotor engine has acquired a reputation of a relatively small and high-power engine with low efficient fuel consumption. Mazda started mass production of the engine on a common Comotor SA factory together with NSU (Ro80) and Citroen (GS Birotor) companies in the period of 1967 to 1977. In the end of seventies, the first mass production of a rotor model started — coupe RX-7, produced from 1978 to 2002. Gulf RE Special was formulated for further performance increase of such engines based on the own technology. Gulf RE Special ensures excellent thermal stability, lubricating properties thanks to PAO and esters; it has a stable viscosity index and low ashness. Gulf RE Special is recommended for vehicles subject to severe conditions, running in extreme driving styles and a sport driving style. The last serial Mazda rotor model was RX-8 appeared in 2003 with a 1,3-liter two-section rotor engine of the new generation (RENESIS), from 190 to 250 h.p. Since Gulf RE Special has low viscosity, Gulf ARROW GT30 is recommended for this engine.
